Dr. L: Unique Value Proposition, sometimes referred to as a unique selling proposition (USP). It is comprised of 3 components. 

 

  1. It requires that you have benefits that are the most needed and wanted and can fix the problems of P.I. that your competitors can not fix (disputes, denials, fee cuts & undervaluation of injury claims).

AWA: What is important for a Chiropractor to grow his P.I. business?

AWA: What is most wanted by todays P.I. chiropractor?

 

Dr. L:  Everyone wants to make more money and save more time allowing them to do the other things in life they enjoy doing. 

 

AWA: What is wrong with today’s P.I. practitioners?

 

Dr. L:  It’s not the chiropractor. It’s what they don’t know and aren’t taught in schools or anywhere else. There are however, 2 large factors. #1) They are still using the outdated 99204 Medicare exam on injury patients. They should be using the 1191M Impairment Rating by Attending Physician –Standard -1-3 Body Parts – Performed at MMI … and #2) Chiropractors can’t compete without help against the 80 different software versions all insurers use to determine the valuation of injury claims. It started with Colossus 28 years ago and we’ve been losing against their computers ever since but now we have Zeus vs. Colossus.

 

Karen Greig, ESQ. in Bellevue, Wash., who’s litigated dozens of bodily injury suits against Allstate says:

“There’s something sinister and surreal about a computer becoming the arbiter of the value of human life,”. She further states; “You can’t negotiate with a computer.” 

 

AWA: You mean that no one has created a tool to overcome the insurance companies computers as Colossus?

AWA: Where can you get Zeus and is it expensive?

 

Dr. L:  If the Chiropractor attends the seminar and gets in the program, Zeus is only $99 a month and you don’t have to change your current EHR.

 

AWA: Are there any ‘secrets’ to getting more new P.I. patients and attorney referrals?

 

Dr. L: Yes. You must exhibit the highest CORE COMPETENCE. Meeting “Best Practice” standards means providing “Evidence-Based” data which is a strong unique value proposition that can solve the problems of P.I. and then be professionally marketed to brand the chiropractor as the one to seek over the competition. 

 

AWA: How can a chiropractor determine if he is has met “Best Practice” standards and meets evidence-based data?

 

Dr. L: By his exam and documentation. There are 25 sections to a bodily injury claim and most chiropractors using the 99204 exam don’t access more than 11 sections. Without realizing it, this actually de-values an injury claim.

 

AWA: Isn’t the 99204 exam what chiropractors are taught in school?

 

Dr. L: Yes and that’s part of the problem. The schools don’t teach us business development. 99204 is a Medicare exam. Bodily Injury assessment goes beyond the CMS Guidelines as can be seen in the Medicare Manual.  Remember, insurers are 3rd party, independent, commercial entities who go by the Injury Model. The 1191M Injury Model Triage Exam will exchange complex data that will not be relayed with the 99204 level.

 

LightbulbAWA: If you had to sum it up, what advice would you give chiropractors who want to advance their personal injury practices?

 

Dr. L: Find new ways to do business, add new services and new products that are proven. Learn beyond your own knowledge base. Add anything and everything that is currently missing in the P.I. practice.  Start with the 1191M exam and look at how many of the 9 keys to P.I. business development they would be willing to incorporate into their existing business as that will reveal the amount of expansion they can expect. AWA: How did you acquire all this proprietary material in personal injury?

 

Dr. L: I won the position over all medical disciplines to be the medical expert and I went on to set precedent at the State Supreme Court level in overcoming the Verbal Threshold Injury law.  I was the first expert witness to use AOMSI. It held a threshold in the 3rd edition AMA Guides. I’ve remained at the forefront teaching “Injury Severity Thresholds”, “Evidence-based Practice (EBP), Triage Injury Intake & 1191M Exam and “Independent Medical Validation” (IMV) to override IME disputes.

This is the only seminar to share all this information to empower todays P.I. Chiropractor to out perform himself and his competitors.

 

AWA: How many seminar presentations have you delivered?

 

Dr. L: I’ve been a Key-Note speaker at 18 State Annual Trial lawyer Association Conventions, more than any chiropractor in history. I was asked to address the Judicial College. I presented through satellite conferencing from Rutgers Law Institute. I wrote 9 books on personal injury. I authored Zeusclaim Injury Assessment Medical Record Software to overcome Colossus. Over ten thousand chiropractors and fifteen thousand lawyers have attended my seminars and I have no plans to slow down.
